4th day
Yesterday morning we went to the A&E department. An medical assitant gave us some briefing about this depatment. This department was very big and it was divided into 3 zone...zon merah(krital), zon kuning(separa kritikal), zon hijau(non-kritikal). In the begining, zon merah have 1 patient only...this patient fainted because of hypotension. zon kuning and hijau have a few patients too. After that, the medical assitant took us in to the minor operation theater. There was another medical assitant stiching a man's head, but we were so unlucky, the minute we stepped into the minor OT, the stiching procedure had ended...haiii. The medical assitant incharge took us around the A&E department and at the same time explained to us the purpose and funtion of different rooms. After explainig, he gave us time to explore this department.
We went straight into the minor OT and we were lucky this time to observe a stiching procedure on an uncle's toes. This uncle met with an accident when he was ridding his motor. His toes was seriously injured...the flesh on his toes were like going to tear off...we can even see his METATARSALS!!!! I know its quite disgusting...2 of my group members went pale after seeing this procedure.
In the afternoon, my group went to the male medical department ward at Block D. These wards were crowded with patients of different sicknesses such as hypertension, diabetes, AIDS, H1N1, etc....In ward D4, there was a HDU room where coma patients have to depend on machine to respirate were placed. There was a patient whose heart suddenly fail to pump...all HO and MO rushed into this room to ressucitate that patient...after failing using CPR, the doctors uses a defibrillator and they succeeded this time. I was lucky to be inside and have the chance to observe the whole procedure.
At night, as i said before, i was on call at the A&E department again. More intresting patients came in during this time. So sad to see an uncle who suffered from cardiac arrest died on the spot when all the doctors failed to ressucitate him. Before i went back there was a baby ammited but its already 10 pm and mummy was waiting for me so i missed out that cases...but according to my friends they said that baby also died on the spot...haiii really sad to hear about it :'(
5th day
Today our program startted earlier then usual. After gathering at the PGMC we headed to the Forensic Department...its a really really long journey to this departmet. When people hear about forensic department...they will automatically know that what's in this department right????A supervisor gave us a short briefing about this department. Actually there's nothing much here... just DEAD BODIES!!!! so everyone should know how does a mortuary smells like right???
Firstly, the supervisor took us to a room where fresh dead bodies are placed. In this room, there a refrigerator where the baby corpses were placed. After explaining, the supervisor let us have a view of the dead bodies. There's a dead foetus on the trolley as well....so poor thing this small little foetus doesn't even have a chance to come into this world :'( Later on we went to the back where the big huge refrigerators for the adult corpses were placed. The supervisor even open the refrigerators for us to observe....DON'T EVER BREATH AT THIS SECTION!!!!! We saw a corpse who was burnt by fire...and another one was a suicide case. After that we were brought into the post-mortem rooms for MO and specialist respectively.
This program ended with a taklimat by Dr. Izam. That's what the whole program is about.

third day of Program Pendedahan Kerjaya Seorang Doktor
Today is our third day in HSAJB. Our program started at 9.00am, so after gathering at the PGMC, we headed to the O&G department. Actually there's nothing much at the O&G clinic because today is just for obstetric patients, so sister Hanunaa took us to the labour room which located at the same floor as the operation theater. The surrounding of the labour room was very nice and it was all air conditioned haha ^^
Today was one of my luckiest day...when we were in the labour room...i managed to obeserve the whole process of a mother giving birth to a baby. Wow, that was really a rare chance because we were not supposed to enter the labour room haha ^^I have no regrets today hehe
After that the sister took us to the O&G ward. Firstly we went to the gynaecology ward. This ward consist of patients who have problems regarding female reproductive system. After listening to the sister explaination, we walked around and trried to attach to some houseman and monash medical students. Same as the last two days they told us how miserable life they went through during their housemanship period...everyone of them will mentioned about the 36 hours non stop working...but in conclusion today's doctors gave a lot of encouragement for us to study this field.
After lunch we went to the post -natal and anti-natal ward. The anti-natal ward is for patients who just delivered their babies....there were so many patients here. The post -natal ward is for patients who are suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and other sickness when they are still in their pregnancy stage. In this ward there were many houseman...so we can freely attached to any one of them. Me and 3 other friends attached to Dr. Hussna. She explained a lot of things about the patients and she even thought us how to examine and write reports about the patients when doing rounds in the ward.
Conclusion: today was an exciting and intresting day...tmr i will be going to the trauma(A&E) department and the medical department...and tmr i will be on call at the A&E department as well till 10 pm ^^

second day of Program Pendedahan Kerjaya Sebagai Seorang Doktor
Today is our second day in HSA under the program mentioned above. So today we went to the surgical department. We went to the Surgical Clinic at around 9am and waited for the sister incharge to come...while waiting a supervisor took us around to explore the surrounding of the surgical clinic...he even took us in to a small operation theater to see the process of endoskopik... the surgeon was quite friendly inside....he allowed us to observe while he was carrying out the minor op.
After that, sister Anchom took us to visit the female surgical ward, male surgical ward and paeds surgical ward. We spent most of our time at the paeds surgical ward playing at chatting with the babies and mothers.
Hmm.....don't feel like writing much here today...quite tired lo....another 3 more days to go haha
...so tmr my group will be going to the O & G department and the forensic ward...i wonder why there are wards in the forensic department...tmr i will find out about it haha
got to go....GOD BLESS

first day of Program Pendedahan Kerjaya Seorang Doktor
So as it is mentioned above, today i went for this program under the JPA scholarship at Hospital Sultanah Aminah. Mum send me there around 8.30 am. I thought i was early but i was totaly wrong about it...i was being placed in Kumpulan 4.
The program started with a brief talk from Dr. Izan, Timbalan Pengarah Klinikal of HSAJB, after that Pn.Salmah our ketua penyelaras organized us into our groups. After choosing our ketua and penolong ketua, we followed the sister who incharge of Urology department to the Urology Clinic situated at the 3rd floor of the polyclinic builing. In the clinic we are like flower vases observing the medical officer carried out their job. Try to imagine 14 people squeezing into a small room. We were like blocking the patients, doctors and nurses road...but what to do we can't go any where...thats the only place where we suppose to be...
Some doctors told us that its not easy being a doctor. They said that we have to sacrifice all our time when we become a doctor...there isn't any free life being a doctor as they have to work for 36 hours non-stop during the houseman period. (helo, we are here for encouragement la and why are these doctors trying to discourage us) In the clinic we even get a chance to see the doctors carried out there examination...although its quite boring there but we gain a lot of information from the doctors.
After lunch at the cafeteria,we headed to the Urology male ward at east 5. But some of there suggested to go to the Urology female ward as well...so we were splitted into 2 groups each containig 7 people. My groups members and i headed to the female ward ar east 2, there are altogether 6 patient for the urology department...as there are quite few amounts of patients so these patients have to share the same ward as the surgical patients...seriously its really boring in this ward haha ^^ . So we decided to return to the male ward...there are 11 patients in this ward...we were lucky to see Dr.Pradeep carrying out a procedure (dressing a patient's wound). After that we were allowed to enter the isolation room...there was a patient here, he had to be isolated because he's a chemo patient so have to isolated from bacteria and viruses.
Time passed slowly here...we walked here and there around the ward and distubing the doctors as well hehe ^^ after that we went home at 5pm.
So our first day had ended here...tmr we will have a day at the surgical department. And the worst thing is i have to go oncall like a real doctor at the A&E (trauma department) on thursday night. Well, this is the life i choosen to walk through in the future...so i guess i have to sacrifice my whole life to this field ^^

Christian Class in Kem Sri Ledang
This is a picture taken during our last christian class in Kem Sri Ledang. Although this class contain only 14 members and a teacher but this class is the only thing that i was looking forward during my tough life in PLKN. I really want to thank GOD for giving me this wonderful class and all these christian and catholic friends in PLKN : )
I would like to share a real testimony here with everyone...after returning back to camp on the 16/2/2010 my eye problem came back and it became worse after the kembara halangan activities. Both of my eyes were very sweollen, pain and itchy...i really don't know what should i do at that very moment...i wonder should i tell my jurulatih about my eyes problem...but i was afraid that i would be send home again...although its good to be at home but i promised myself no matter what happend to me i will definitely complete this PLKN before going home...I prayed every night and asked GOD to heal me. As it is written in the BIBLE...whoever called out to HIM, he will get healed. One thursday night, during our christian class, Mr Kumar noticed about my eye problem and he promised to pray for me after our fellowship...That night was the most wonderful and peaceful night i ever had in my life....i really can feel the HOLY SPIRIT filled me when Mr Kumar and my friends prayed for me...i was really touched and almost cried but i hold back my tears....After that night, miracles really happened on the next day. The redness in my eyes had reduce and my eyes weren'r swollen anymore...i was really glad ^^
From that day onwards, i told myself i should trust and have faith in GOD...things that are impossible to happen in our eyes is possible in HIS name because HE is a living GOD ^^
