A Trip to Kota Kinabalu

From the 19th-22nd 0f April we had a wonderful trip with the Johor Tourist Guides to Kota Kinabalu. This was the most amazing trip i experienced in my life. Kota Kinabalu is a very nice place which brought us close to nature.

The first day, we went to the Lok Kawi wild life park as the Johor tourist Guides and Sabah tourist guides were having their CTRE course. I attended that course as well. Through this course we get to know different types of wild life which were conserved in this park.

~Borneo elephants

~eldest aunt with the elephants

~6th aunt with the elephants (actually we were trying to a picture of an elephant coming out of the pond.... but that elephant didn't want to come out...tooo bad )

~cute little sun bear =)

~Probosis monkey: its a strange type of monkey with a long nose found mainly in Sarawak. Little probosis monkeys will pull their father's nose if they haven't prepare to have new brothers and sisters. Isn't it strange for animals to know family planning haha =)

~Horse

~lazy clouded leopard still sleeping...zzzzz

2nd day

The sun rises around 5.30am in Sabah...around 6.30 am the sun was already shining brightly through the windows...its an indication for us to wake up. After breakfast 2 of my aunts, uncle and 5 other tourist guides were going to conquer Mount Kinabalu. That day their target was to reach the half way house at Laban Rata. The remaining members including my sis, eldest aunt and i we went to the Sabah tea plantation, Poring, Canopy Walk and etc. On the way to Poring (Hot Spring) we saw a sign on the road saying theres a Rafflesia in full bloom. Without hesitation, we went down to explore.

~Rafflesia in full bloom. We were very lucky as Rafflsia flower will bloom for 7 days only and that day was the 4th day.

~Buds of the Rafflesia flower. Wheter they will bloom a not...its all depands on the host. This is a parasitic plant.

3rd day

This is the day where all the climbers were going to continue their way up to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. The good news is.... they managed to reached the peak. Congratulations to all the 8 climbers. I'm really proud of them especially my aunts and uncle =)

~Mount Kinabalu.

~This my 6th aunt who had successfuly arrived at the peak of Mount Kinabalu. I'm really proud of her =) Its really not easy for a person who is afraid of high, darkness and cold to climb to the top of Mount Kinabalu.

Last Day

The Johor and Sabah tourist guides continue with thier CTRE course at the heritage walk. This time i didn't join them...so i accompanied my 6th aunt and sis at the coffee shope. In the coffee shop we had a good talk with our friendly tourist guide from Sabah -James. He is really a knowledgeable person...he shared a lot of things with us. Thank U uncle James for sharing all your precious knowledge with us. This was really a fruitful trip for all of us including the Johor tourist guides. Next time will be my turn to climb Mount Kinabalu haha =)
